Default Converting servo torque in kg to ounces

How is this calculation done? for example.......
Torque: 33.5kg/cm @ 6v taken from http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...8s_39_8kg.html

ok there is 2.2 pounds per kg.. so 33.5kg x2.2=73.7 Lbs then x16(ounces in a #) and i get 1179.2 ounces....then what do i divide by or am i doing it all wrong?

You also have to take into account centermeters. Converting them are part of the equation.
Here is an easy way, http://www.convertunits.com/from/kg+cm/to/oz+in , the answer is 465oz/in

1 Kg/cm = 13.9 in. oz.

33.5 Kg/cm x 13.9 = 465.65

I personally don't like HK, note I said "I". Take a look at the Savox seros, I have been running their SC-0251

Savox SC-0251 High Torque Metal Gear Digital Servo-savsc0251mg

Map Price $40.99

Dimensions(mm): 40.7X19.6X42.4
Weight(g): 61.0
Speed(@4.8V sec/60): .20
Torque(@4.8V oz-in): 180.5
Speed(@6.0V sec/60): .18
Torque(@6.0V oz-in): 222.2
Gear: Metal
Bearing: 2BB
Case: Plastic
25 Tooth Spline
Frequency: 200-250hz
Pulse Width Frequency: 1520

And love them.

Savox servos are also rebranded by Align and sold under their own brand name.

Align user's seem to like these servos.

Strictly out of curiosity, how do you come to that conclusion?

A quick Google search turned up a bunch of discussions about this, and info on the production factories in Malaysia, as well as talk about Savox being the source of the Spektrum servos too.

+1 on that, not once have I seen a user of the Align (Savox) DS610 servos or any of the other high torque and speed servos from Align ever complain bout them. If you ever ask "what servos to use on a 600-700 size heli" in a heli forum, over half will suggest either the Align DS610 or DS620's.

Google does conversions. Just type what you have and then "into (whatever you want)" into the search box and press Enter. Voila!

Ah... forget it. AFM = Airfield Models. Never heard it referred to like that before. I'm a bit dense.

Thanks guys.

I haven't finished a plane in forever so I'm hanging around here a lot trying to get motivated. Just got two brand new Herr Pitts Specials - one of which is going on my board very soon. I'm playing with engines here at my desk to figure out if I can make them interchangeable. Already know the OS CV-A is great but also have a NovaRossi .12 (0.7 ounces heavier but maybe a lot more RPM - we'll see).

Details will be on the site eventually.

Sorry for the hijack, OP.

Tower Hobbies site has a very useful conversion tool.
Linear Conversion Calculator
Area Conversion Calculator
Volume Conversion Calculator
Weight Conversion Calculator
Torque Conversion Calculator
Temperature Conversion Calculator

http://www.towerhobbies.com/help/convcalcs.html

I keep it very close when shopping, just copy paste into it and hit calculate

You then divide by 2.54.
