Hear you go bkeg welcome to the forum:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/ques...-flaprons.html

But I will go ahead and state a simplified out line of my opinion concerning the use of flaperons and I am not talking about true flaps or dedicated flaps. For the new flyer or someone just learning how to fly they are an exceedingly bad idea and almost certain to cause much frustration and even crashs.

They will require additional skills to maintain and when one is just learning or even worse just learning with no mentor then this becomes a major problem or hurdle

There are some reasonable uses for flaperons as opposed to true flaps but this is much for later in the climb up the skills ladder. My apologies if you are not a beginner but the assumption is made since you choose to post your question in the beginners forum.

John
