Default Battery-Servo Compatibility Question

Will a Standard Hitec 6.0V servo work with a 6.6V receiver battery? I've been flying RTF models for a while and now working on my first glow build. Obviously the RTFs have everything done for you, so I'm really clueless on a lot of technical details. I have most of it figured out, just trying to figure out small details.

Yes, but you need to also know if your receiver will handle the voltage also. Most modern 2.4 receivers will handle it without a voltage regulator. You really only need 6v if you need more torque out of your servos.

Thanks, good to know. I was planning on using the Spektrum AR610. I probably don't need the extra torque, but could possibly use the battery in future airplanes. Is there a downside to the extra torque?

No, the servos will run a little faster and you will just have more strength on the control surfaces is all. You can check all the specs for your radio components with the manufacturer.

If you don't mind, let me piggy back on my previous question. If I'm just using 4 standard analog servos, how big (mAh) of a battery do I need? I do understand that the bigger the battery, the more weight, but is there any other down side to having a larger battery?

Just size and weight. 1100 mah or so would be fine for 4 standard servos and several flights.
