Default Voltmeter

Hey my friend,Im slowly getting back into this hobby, Here is what I found, Horizon Hobby has one that others here approve of ,it is the HAN171. It has a load indicator on it and does not require an internal batt to use. It works with all types of batts. There are 2 more that I know of, I will have to find out where there from. I'll get back to you.

This one is about the cheapest you are likely to find. If you happen to be a Hitec A9 or A9X user its no longer necessary to carry a meter in your flight box anymore. Since those systems provide a full time voltage readout and under real time loads anytime both the Tx and Rx are switched on.

I still use my old school Jr 10x and 8103, they do everything I could ask of them and more, I don't plan on buying new equipment anytime soon...... why would hobbico discontinue a damn good reliable product?

Just a point of interest since you never said what systems you used. I have ran across folks using the A9 even for years that were completely unaware that they no longer needed their ESVs

There likely is only one answer to your next question and that has to be simply that no manufacturer, wholesaler or retailer can stay in business for long by continuing to stock product that no longer sells.

It is unfortunate indeed and I lament the the losses our hobby sees every day as well. One of the more recent that I particularly found distressing was Hayes fuel tanks.

I still use 72mhz and nimh on my glow planes and spectrum dsm2 on my gassers which use A123 on the controls and nimh on ignition.... yeah, I just found out slimline went out of business too... sorry to hear about Hayes.... they had some really great products... I guess I better take really good care of what I have, because the old school companies are disappearing.... I don't even want to think about it too much... alot has changed in the 4 years I was out of the hobby..... its all my girlfriends fault... she bought me a micro drone quad, then her 13 year old son showed an interest in my planes, so one thing led to another and now I'm back, just not in full force
