what do you guys recommend as a moderately priced battery charger for me reciever pack and my transmitter? Also what is a good battery and size for my spektrum reciever?
I used to use a DDVC but I can't find those anymore.

There are lots of LiFe capable battery chargers on the market. I recommend getting one that can cycle batteries so you can use it to verify your receiver packs. That was standard practice back in the NiCd days, but still smart to do every 6 months to catch a battery going bad before it causes a problem. I use an Ultra Power charger and like it. Hyperion, Hitec, Venom, Thunder Power, and 1/2 a dozen other companies make chargers in the 50-80 watt range that will meet your needs.
