Default Apprentice went for a swim....What trainer is next?

After a few months of flying and training on an apprentice with the help of a teacher it decided to take a spiraling nose dive from 200ft up with no response from controls. That being said I dont think I will be going to an apprentice again and want something different. I would like to go for a foamie electro. I use tactic gear at the moment. Any recommendations for something receiver ready 50" inch plus?

How about a powered sailplane like the Radian or Calypso?

I admire the electric foamy pusher jets. They hand launch and belly land. Can be flown very fast or very slowly.
,
I do spiraling dives on occasion. I hate em. For me they happen when I become disoriented and I have the plane in a banked turn. I try to level the wings but give aileron in the wrong direction. The reason I do this is because I am just trying to give a command that will quickly fix my disorientation and level the wings.
.
I have found the best way to fix my disorientation is to think my way out of it. I have also taken to telling myself or making a mental note that I just had a moment of disorientation.

I have been flying knife edge on my simulator as of late and it is my first experience with rudder usage. Until I get use to it I will become disoriented and crash.

Are you looking to use the same radio gear on your next plane? If so, I'd send in the radio gear and have it checked out to make sure it wasn't damaged in the crash.
Are you sure you want a foamie? I know, they are cheap(in more ways than one in my opinion), can be glued back together and flown again and again after crashing but, with all that said, if it was me buying something, it would be something like a Sig Kadet or Four Star instead. They are both more durable than a foamie, are both built from birch ply and balsa, can be powered by either nitro or electric drive and can be set up as either three or four channel planes. Here is link to all of Sig's ARFs:

Thanks for the the replies! Hydro this is actually something I have been thinking about. Right now Im highly considering the Timber 1.5 but to your point maybe its time to get into wood. I will look into eletcric versions!

You might want to look at the Seniorita. It's larger than the Timber, uses a four channel radio and only needs a 400-700 watt Outrunner motor with ESC and battery pack to match. You can probably use the transmitter you already have, just add a receiver and four servos and you're good to go. Granted, the Seniorita isn't a plug and play like the Timber but it is a big step up in quality over the foamies. It will also cost you more than the foamies will since it's not what amounts to blow-molded styrofoam

The Timber 1.5 looks like a good choice. It is the style I learned on. I use to think about flying off of water back when I was starting out. My thought process was that it is a wide open space I can utilize. What I did not consider back then was the possibility of dunking the plane. We like to think that once we get to a certain skill level that crashing will be a thing of the past. I do not find that to be true. We crash less and less, but we still crash.

I doubt it as styrofoam isn't fuel proof without having a coating of fuel-proofer applied and that adds weight to the plane, negating some of the benefits of the foam build
