RADIOMASTER TX16S - re-activating a HK Corsair modelxx.bin + Or a deleted model
ive had my TX16s for two days and have managed to setup a working Spektrum DSMX TAER profile from scratch, but need to setup three rates AER and a duel rate ORX for my hobbyking Hawker Tempest, i have a model7.bin setup file that i got from Stuart for the similar HK corsair, but it is no good on its own
i copied the model7.bin to the MODELS folder, but can't see and select it in MODEL SELECT, its behaving like a deleted model that stays in the MODELS folder as modelxx.bin, Arghhhh !!, , i think i also need the missing setup for RADIO\Radio.bin and models.txt that refer to that specific model7.bin, , ,i tried adding model7.bin to models.txt like this "[Models]model6.binmodel7.binmodel8.bin" but got an (Invalid Model), , , is it possible to do it in OpenTX Companion ?
Any suggestions ?

OpenTX is in kind of a half-way state, currently. Older radios (Taranis, etc.) stored the models only in memory. They could only be transferred to a new radio by using Companion. The newer color radios have a partial implementation of storing data on the SD card (the ".bin" files). But it is not complete. It mostly is screen layouts, etc. while the actual model configuration is still dependent on the old method. The grand plan, someday, is to rework the systems so they all save everything to the SD card. But that appears to be a long way off as there is a LOT of work to maintain backwards compatibility.
Using Companion, you can transfer a model/models to a different radio. But the screen layouts will not come with. I just redo them by hand. Possibly the associated .bin files can be renamed to match the number of the newly imported model, and then would be read by the system - but I have not tried that.
Transferring just the .bin files, as you have found, does not work, since there is no model configuration to link them to.

Its OK TS, , , YES Yippeee !!, , just got the corsair model7.bin working, i put the model7.bin at the end, so used "[Models]model6.binmodel8.binmodel7.bin", , , I can now see "Corsair" in MODEL SELECT and it works fine, I have three rates AER high\med\low and two modes of ORX, beginner\advanced, and we should be able to re-activate a deleted model
