Am trying to get my son interested in the hobby (as well as myself), I recently obtained a Futaba T8FGS radio and have been getting familiar with it. For our first plane we chose a Volantex TrainStar Ascent. I purchased a Futaba R617FS receiver that is compatible with the radio. We have also been getting the hang of things using the Real Flight simulator, which I was able to connect to the Futaba radio. The plane does not have a flight controller stabilizer (gyro) built in. Am thinking it would be easier especially for my son to learn to fly it with a flight stabilizer that reduces the chance of crashes, etc. Are there any stabilizer/gyros that are compatible with the R617FS receiver? I haven't been able to find any. Better yet, can the Futaba T8FGS be programmed to minimize the chance of crashing?
Thanks for any advice!
