Default Plane balancing - questions.....

I have my first symetrical airfoil plane a stick and I love it!
However when pulling hard up it tends to roll off to one side...
I've checked and it is out of balance laterally.....

My question is on weight placement,,,,, I know go on the outer tip so you use as little weight as possible but the friend reccomended placing the weight on the trailing edge of the wing?
Why place the weight on the trailing edge?
Thanks!

I think your answer depends on your CG. If it's on the trailing edge, which I doubt then it'll do nothing. The only thing I can think of (and I am by no means an expert on this stuff) is that the force or torque that the added weight applies wont be as great, so it'll only shift the CG back a little bit. Since T=FD (force x radius) the smaller the radius, the smaller the torque.

But that's just a shot in the dark.

I've always seen weights for lateral balance placed on the wing tip on or near the spar.....

Are your elevators joined in the center, or are there 2 separate push rods?

If they are joined, you could be experiencing a flex in the torque rod between the elevator halves making them act a little like ailerons.
