A mate of mine just brought a new trainer but it came with very little in the way of instructions for the engine so we dont even know what make it is.
It has an M 46 sticker on its side and has a round cylinder head which is painted black on top. I know its not an OS a Super Tigre or a Thunder Tiger, and its obviously a .46 size.
The plane itself was your typical 40 size trainer called a "World Star".
Does anyone know what make this engine is?
Thanks,
Troy.

Yes thats it. The Megatech M-46.
Do they have a website? Also we seem to be having fuel leakage problems around the cylinder head. Does this have a gasket? The cylinder head has been removed and Im wondering if a gasket has fallen off or something?

Megatech's website is:
www.megatech.com
But there isn't much info there.
As to the leak, there shouldn't be a gasket at the head. You are more likely to find a metal shim between the head and the crankcase. The shim is to control compression, if it's even installed. The glow plug does have a metal seal and if this is missing, it could lead to leaks. How does compression feel?
