Hey,
[&o] I went to a local shop with a flight simulator. I havent toched a radio for 5 years now and i can barely fly one on the simulator
I tried 4 times and crashed twice.. How can someone forget flying in 5 years?!!!!! I have a trainer at my home which i bought two weeks back. It's ready to fly now but i lost all the motivation. I think i will definately crash it if i take it to the field. I dont want to take lessons once again. I took 15 hours of lessons before. I bet i'll start to shiver if i try to fly it.
Thanks

Flying a simulator, despite what it says on the box, is totally different from flying at an actual field. It can actually be quite a bit more difficult due to the limited and lack of perspective.
I think your best bet is to go out to the field and just get some help for the first couple of flights. I'm sure your confidence and feel for the sticks will soon come back. Once you're happy flying 'the real thing' maybe then you can go and give the simulator another bash...

Before you left for 5 years, how good of a pilot were you? It sounds like you hadn't soloed yet, with only 15hrs of stick time. If that's the case, then I'm not surprised most of it has "gone away" for you. It's not uncommon for students to "forget" a lot even over a winter. In this case, you'll really do best by going ahead and working with an instructor for a bit.
On the other hand, if you were a competent pilot who had progressed to the point where you were flying on instinct and reflex, then you'll find it comes right back to you. I was away from the hobby for over 10 years. I got back in with a trainer, and went up on a buddy box for the first flight, just in case. So I didn't do the first takeoff. But it all came back that first flight, and I was doing basic acrobatics and such that first flight. It all came right back, no problems. I probibly didn't need the trainer, but it was still the right approach.
