Default Remote neddle - how far?

How far can the remote needle valve be from the carb? On my OS 46 LA it looks to be about 1 to 1 1/2 right now. Can I move it 3 inches, 4 inches, more from the carb?

Thanks,

Default RE: Remote neddle - how far?

I broke the flange that the remote needle is attached to on an OS46FX. I Bench ran the engine after the crash with about 6" of fuel line between the very remote needle and the carb.

I beieve that the remote needle is sensitive to vertical displacement from the carb. The further away it is, the more it will be above / below the carb at some point in a loop.

My bench run did nothing to help test that.

Anyways, I can vouch that the pure length can be more than the basic 1.5".
