I recently purchased a trainer with a fox 40. The guy who had it before me said it ran good. I've started it and it seems to run well. But.. What do the needles on the sides of the carb control (both right and left). I know the top needle it the carb controls the mixutre (i think). Not sure about the side ones. Can anybody help.

That can be explained here, but I would highly recommend that you find a club and an instructor to run the engine with you. Then you can see firsthand what everything does. Also Fox engines are more finicky than most. That doesn't mean that it will not run good when it is set up right, it just might take a little while to get there. They also need more break in than most, Fox always says to add a little extra castor oil to their engines. When it is broke in and set right it will be a screamer.

what a coincidence. I'm currently struggling with a fox .40 I brought back to life after being stashed in the basement 10+ years. I have found fliteline solutions to be very helpful in getting this engine working (though it still needs some fine tuning to get idle on).
