Ok, its starting to get cold, and Im starting to get worried. Hopefully I dont have much to worry about!
My plane STUFF is located in room of my house I would call a '3 season room'. Its basically a back room of the house. It has no really A/C or heat, has lots of windows, and is really only used in the spring/fall when the temps are managable. I have taken over this space for my planes, and have a bit of a concern storing (a) the planes Im working on (un covered, just framed up), (b) the planes I fly, and (c) radio equipment in the room. In the winter it will be cold in the room, as in, what ever the temps are outside, it will likely be the same in this room. BUT the room is weather tight, so no issues there, just temperature.
SO, could there be any issues with plane storage (Im primarly worried about warping), and what about electronic (radio) storage?
thanks!

your electronics will be fine. don't worry abotu them. warping shouldn't be an issue. what kind of temps are you refering to?

Well, it gets down to close to 0' F here during the winter. Granted the average is probably more around 10' -> 20' F through the winter, so it does get cold!!

I would probably at least bag the engines and electronics. With the temperature cycling up and down, condensation on the parts may be an issue which may cause corrosion problems. Although batteries are probably best stored under cool (or cold) conditions, extreme temperatures will cause the electrolyte to freeze which could be bad news.

Sounds like what you guys are saying is move the electronics inside (which I can easily do), and the planes should be fine? yes?

If the room pretty much holds a constant humidity level, the planes will be fine. I agree with moving the electronics if it's an easy thing to do.

I have no experience with wooden airplanes, but I know, that I wouldn't leave my wooden guitars in a freezing room.
I could imaging that extreme tempertures, hot and cold, are bad for wood.

Here is the deal. Wood does not care what temperature it is, BUT changes in humidity will warp it. Dry wood is ok to go through temp changes. Batteries are NOT. Get them out. Electronics are ok if they stay dry, if they get wet they may be toast. Your framed up planes will be ok unless some paarts are covered on one side and not the other.
