Default Warped aileron

I bought a Sig Kadet and began assembling the wings about a year ago. I then changed jobs and moved to a new city. Well, since winter is coming, I'm trying to motivate to finish the Kadet so that I'll be ready to start flying instruction in the spring. I just recently unpacked the kit again and I realized that one of the ailerons is pretty severely warped. What is the best way to fix this problem?

Also, I've been reading the posts about the choice of first radio, and I'm seriously considering a Futaba 6EXA. However, I think I read a comment somewhere on the reviews section of this site which says that there's a problem with trainer cord compatibility with older Futaba equipment. Could someone confirm or deny this??

Thanks,

Darren

Snoopy10,

Wet the aileron stock in water, place it on a flat surface and weight it...let it dry. If it does not get back to its shape, try wetting it again, but this time, give it some opposite twist, weight and let dry.

Hope this helps.

Regards
Marcus

Worst case is: buy a new aileron, the stock is only a couple of bucks. For the radio Q, go to the radio forum, and you will get answers.

Additional comments to both of your questions....

Once the aileron is "nearly" straight, you can, through judicious use of a covering iron, shring the covering on the aileron more in one place than another which with skill, can cause the aileron to warp bak straight again.

As for the Trainer cord, Futaba is moving onto a new cord standard. The "features" are that with the entirely computer radios, the "buddy" box just becomes the new sticks for the instructor's box, and all the mixing, EPA, etc settings on the main control are available to the buddy box. The next most "advertised" benefit is that the plug is now a 90degree plug, making it more convenient...

The old style plug is referred to as the "round" plug, and the new style is the "square" plug.

Old and new styles are compatible with each other (can have an old or new style buddy box on an old or new style master), so long as you have a cable that is pluggable into both. There are round-round cables, round-square cables, and square-square cables. In order of availability though, it is easy to egt a hold of round-round. not so easy to get square-square, and almost impossible to find round-square.

Typically you will need to order the square style trainer cords
