I'm new. Not too many budget restraints, so I'm making mistakes left and right. Bought a RTF trainer that included a 5 channel computer radio. So far so good, it's all I need right? Then I wanted to get a SIM to practice on. Got a 6 channel computer radio with FMS, a billion planes, buddy wire, and USB wire to run the sim with. Now I've got way more than I need right? So today I bought a nice ARF because I wanted to try and build a plane. I got a nice little Ultra Stick 40. Guess what? If I build it with the flap setup it comes with, it says I need a 7 channel radio... [X(] I can see an 8 channel on the horizon already, and I've only been at this 2 weeks. Sheesh! - Joe

I may be incorrect. But.. if you spent the money for a sim, then bought a special control for the sim, buddy cord, etc..... Doesn't that almost defeat the purpose? The entire point of buying that stuff is so you get a little practice so you won't crash you planes. But hell, the money you spent on that you could have bought 3 planes, lol. Might as well just try your luck, may be cheaper. Or join a club.

Just my opinion. The best of luck to you.

By the way, must be nice not to have a budget.....

I already joined AMA and a club. Now I've got 2 JR computer radios and a buddy cord so they have to help me learn.. And the 6 channel with FMS on steroids, buddy cable, and USB cable wasn't that expensive. JR 631 for $140 out the door from the unmentionable huge auction place. - Joe
