When I balance an APC prop, I find I can balance the blades with no problem, but oftentimes one "side" of the prop will always rotate up. I have tried adding paint/CA to the "light" side of the hub, but it doesn't seem to help much. Can someone explain that to me, and whether or not I should be concerned?

the hole for the prop shaft is probably not drilled in the middle of the hub. Your concern should vary in proportion to how out of balance it is. What is "too unbalanced". Everyone has a different opinion, and some people believe that an out-of-balance prop is a good thing.

Don't let it concern you Tex. Prop balancing is very over rated, and the bottom line is...

"Close enough" is close enough.

A prop would have to be really out of whack to create more vibration than is already being created by the piston going up and down.

So it's nice to have it in the right ball park, but that's as close as you need to get.

Do I need to balance props at all??

Neither way is going to give me problems;

I have lots of plywood, and a CD.

Model Airplane News suggests a tip for balancing props.
You just use the stuff i just named and u can build a prop balancer!!!

I just dont feel like building one.
So do i need to balance my prop????

PS will 10% nitro not run as effectively (ie less power) than a 15 % nitro???

Also Do I have to balance my spinners?
