It can be used as after run oil, if that's what you're asking.

I try to use auto trans fluid, as it is very high detergent. I used to put a quart in my old Jeep about 200 miles before oil change. That motor cleaned up really well after 3-4 changes. Cheap too!!

Yes ,it's used as after run oil. I've used it for years and its my choice of after run oil,but there are lots of different fluids that work as good or maybe better.

This may sound dumb but do you use after run oil after EVERY use of the engine? Like for instance as soon as you get home from the field?
Sorry Im a bit confused

It's a good idea to use the after run oil after a days flying. It helps to chase away the nitro and methanol in the engine. This lengthens engine bearing life. At the end of the flying season, remove the glow plug and squirt some oil into the cylinder, and into the carb and spin the engine for a few revs. Get the oil everywhere in the engine you can, replace the plug, and store clean and dry until next season.

Another after run oil is Marvel Mystery oil. Works as well as the others.

Yeah, ideally after run should be used all the time. The point to it is to displace water/moisture on the parts so the engine/bearings etc cant rust. A few drops wont do much, you want a decent supply of oil in it. You dont have to douse or flood the engine with it, except for very long term storage. You want enough to get in and coat the bearings, crank, etc. Put several drops in the head, but if you dont want to take the plug out each time, put it in the carb and turn it over in order to distribute the oil well. If oil is placed only on the head it cant get to the lower engine parts as easily and that is where it is most important.

After you fly, run the engine and carb dry of all fuel then put in the oil. The less fuel you have to contaminate the oil, the better.

Its like the idea of WD-40. Not that you should use that, but the WD stands for water displacemant.

Air tool oil is good after run oil as is Marvel Mystery Oil. Actually Marvel Mystery Oil make a very good air tool oil. Clarence Lee Of RCM recommends Auto Trans fluid for long term storage of an engine, but it will work as after run oil, as will the gasoline two stroke oils like Klotz.
Clarance engine books are worth reading. Can't hurt !!! [&:]
