Default Over powered Extra Special?

My wife is in the process of building me a Tower Extra Special that we got real cheap at a hobby shop. Yesterday, I bought an OS FX .46 for this plane. Is this engine too powerfull for this plane? Should I move to an OS LA or something smaller? I am not an advanced pilot, and most likely the control throws will have to be tamed way down.

Thanks!

What do the instructions say should be mounted up front?

I am not sure. I will have to check when I get home. I believe it talkes abouta .32 through a .52 but the plane seems way to small for this motor.

A OS 46 FX is very good motor for the plane. All the Extra Special I have seen and had a chance to fly had that motor on them. An APC 11x4 will be a good prop or any 10X6.

But keep in mind that a Extra Special is not designed for speed it is a fun fly plane made for touch and goes and other fun fly things.

Great! I need a slow landing plane! I will take my chances with the OS FX .46 then. I have a few 10X6 props, that will work fine right?

Yeah any old 10X6 prop will be fine. But if you want to slow the plane down you can try the APC 11X4 or an APC 12.25X3.75. The 12.25X3.75 will really slow the plane down and lower the motors rpm but you will still have the power you want.

But like I said a 10X6 of any brand will work fine.
