Dear Snowwave83 , Have you finished building your plane. I have built mine and have flown it on last two week ends. Pushrod assembly was different from the one shown in the manual . I connected the nylon clevices to the rudder and elevator horns. On the other end of the push rod , I simply mave a V bend followed by a z bend at the end to connect to the servo . There was no soldering to do .

Always be very carefull with connecting the right polarities to the speed control because if you connect reverse polarity by mistake , you will certainly ruin the speed control. If you insert the supplied copper inserts from the wrong end , it is possible to connect the plugs in reverse polarity. I made the mistake and blew up my speed control . Now I have installed a deans connector which appears to be fool proof .

I have installed a 7 cell 600mah NiCd . The power is just enough to keep the model aloft after a hand launch . My first flight was a dream . The wind was almost still that day and the plane flew very stably .

On the next flying day , however , it was breezy and the model stalled twice. I think that this would have not happened if I had launched the model with some more force to give it some extra speed .The wing mounting plate came off and the cabin suffered considerable damage , However I was able to do a quick repair job with CA . A more forceful hand launch into the wind resulted in the model stablizing into a smooth glide and then It could gradually gain height .

Always keep extra propellers handy in field ! I have broken 2 of them already in the two mild crashes .

Make sure you check your center of gravity with the battery pack. My first flight was shaky due to not haveing enough weight on the nose even after pushing the pack all the way forward.I eventually taped a c-size battery to my pack for added weight to the nose and the plane flew great. Good luck!! I recommend hand launching .
