I am a newbie and thus don't know much about the payload capacities of RC airplanes. How much can most carry? Do you guyz think that plane could really get off the ground with a little kid in it? If so, i volunteer my little brother

RE: Flying in Plane....
good point. why don't we both make big planes so we can send our little brothers off out into the great wide open! peace and quiet however, i am prety sure that is a dc-10. those are one of the most recognisable planes still today. by the way, as far as i am concerned, the payload capacity is only as high as it's power. if you put big enough engines on a comfortable armchair, it would fly.

i'm an idiot. i meant dc-3. i get them mixed up sometimes. the dc-10 is a jet. however, the c-47 and the dc-10 look pretty much identical. are they the same plane with a different name?

Yes the dc 3 and c 47 are the same plane just as Dennis said. You are right about it being a paratroop plane. I was in the 82nd airborne division and a few of my buddies got an opportunity to jump from a C47 at pope afb. We all jumped from C-130's or C-141's. Every year pope would put on an airshow and part of the show was a nostalgic jump from the C47 by a few paratroopers in the 82nd. I can remember them asking for volunteers for the weekend jump but I had my fill with jumping and didn't volunteer. I wish now that I had.

RE: Flying in Plane....
someday when i have enough money i want to buy a used extra or sukhoi (full scale) and make it rc. put a couple of those giant scale servos on each surface, and have a mount for the tx inside so i can fly it over to an airfield, get out, show it off as an rc plane, fly it, bring it back in, fuel it up, get in, fly it out. raptor, what is the web address for the powerflight website? i want ot see this thing
