4Star 120 With Gas?
A fellow I work with gave me all of his R/C equipment a few weeks ago after he saw me working on my PT40, there was good stuff in it and some wrecks. There's an electric plane that I've been flying a little in my field and a totaled sport plane with a converted gas engine. I'm looking for something to put the gas engine on that will be a good second plane. I've heard good things about the Sig 4 Star series and was wondering if the 4 Star 120 would be a good choice to put this engine on. It was on a 1.20 size airplane before but I'm not sure exactly what size the engine is. The engine runs good and I like the sound it makes plus the cost of the fuel is alot less than glow fuel.
Thanks for any info.

The engine is a Sthil and I think it has a CH ignition. I'll take it to work tonight and find out exactly how much it weighs.

The engine weighs 3.3 pounds with prop, spinner and ignition system. There is a 16x8 prop on it now. I have the name of the original owner and I'm going to try to find him at the club to get some details on the engine.

My guess is that it would work. Just be aware that you are going to have to plan ahead in the build. Putting the tail group servo's in the rear of the fuse and get the battery back as far as you can for starters. I wish you well in your project. I would beef up the nose of the plane for starters. I would also go to some of the local modelers familiar with gas engine planes for some suggestions and help.
