Default Y-harness

Hello to all.I have this question: Should i use a Y-harness on my trainer to connect rudder with ailerons so as to have them both on one stick or should i control them independently? What are the advantages and disadvantages in each case and what would you suggest as a better option for a novice flyer? Thank you.

I agree with prophanger. Y harnesses are used more for when you have 1 aileron servo in each wing (left, right) and want to hook them up to one chanel in your receiver. They work great for that.
