Default Helping a newbie with an aerobird

I've been asked to help out a new flyer with an aerobird. I have flown quite a few different planes, gas and electric, from a trainer to a cub to a stick to a soarstar to a cap 21, and have trimmed out quite a few new planes, but have never attempted a plane anything like this. Any suggestions?

Yeah. Be careful because they don't turn very well, and they won't fly upwind in more than a breeze.

My wife has one. Give plenty of throttle during turns and it will turn tighter whereas idling will produce a very slow wide turn. As DB Cherry said of the wind..I concur, be careful of anything more than a slight breeze. They don't do wind well at all. It's a fun little plane that will loop and actually flies pretty fast.

I have 100+ flights on mine and have been instructing a group of new flyers on Aerobirds.

The are great first planes. Very rugged adn very forgiving for a new pilot. I have lots of information on how to reinforce them, how to trim them for straight flight and how to fix them.

How can I help you?
