You're right and the second set is the metric size

slider,
Don't get discouraged with that plane. Megatech makes mostly very underpowered junk that often won't even fly. Be sure to try it only when there is NO wind, and use VERY tiny stick movements. Most new people yank the sticks around like it's a video game, which will get you into trouble quickly, but it's even more critical when the plane is underpowered.

Take a look around in this Forum (Beginners) and see what other people are learning on. You can also use the "Search" function to find stuff. (Try a search on "Megatech".)

Anyway, Welcome! It's a great hobby, and there are many terrific people who are very willing to help.

DBCherry is right. There are "real" model aircraft and "toy" model aircraft. OK, ok... they're all toys, but some are more toys than other. It's unfortunate that a lot of people quit because they get one of the toys, don't succeed and think it's somehow their fault.

There are a lot of great people in this hobby who will give you all the help and guidance for absolutely nothing in return. Seek out a club and ask for help and you'll get plenty. Ask any and all questions here at RCU and you'll get lots of help here.

If you don't succeed with this plane, don't sweat it. We're here to show you the way.

Hey David,
Any way that you can get to the field around noon on Monday? It's suppose to be a nice day and I'm thinking about going.

Maybe we could at least run your engine and start breaking it in.

Hey Slider,
I may have made a mistake! I just happened to come across an ad for a Megatech Airstrike Nitro. Looks like a fairly standard 40 size trainer, if this is the one you got for Christmas you'll be fine!! Sorry if I screwed up.

NOW! Because this is a standard glow trainer, find a club and get an instructor. Otherwise you probably won't have it after your first attempt at flight. [:@]

yes it is the nitro version. it has a .46 engine on it. the engine puts out 1.4 h.p. hopefuly it will be good enough for me to start out with. there is a guy at work that has a trainer with the buddy box./ he's going to help me out with it.

O yeah, uum, DB, I haven't just quite yet installed the engine nor the fuel tank...\

Why hasn't the new carb arrived yet?? Gotta hurry my dad into mounting the engine. Just finished the nosegear mount.

Thanx anyway though...

Any more nice days though?!?

OK.

To do list for TigerII

1. Wait for the UPS man
2. Install the engine
3. Get fuel tank set up
4. Do the canopy
5. Do the radio gear
6. Do something else that I forgot.. uuh... I know it now!!! I need to install landing gear.

Okay David. If we have other nice days without the road closed due to snow, we'll give it a shot.
