Hello all-
Newcomer here. I just wanted some suggestions on a glow power RC plane that has a decent size engine but is also good for beginners.
Thanks,
Adam

I gotta stay loyal, I would reccomend the Hobbico Avistar. Works good as a trainer, and will carry you a ways afterwards. Of course, if you don't mind building a kit, you could try and find a Sig Kadet MKII..... both .40 size airplanes, although the Kadet's wingspan is a little bigger than the Avistar.

Find yourself a good instructor and see what he reccommends, he will know much better than you. Remember if you go very far with this hobby the trainer will soon be left in your past(for the most part). There is no great hurry, I'ts mid winter and a while before the good weather hits...My thoughts.

What Gizmo said. Find a club, and an instructor [link=http://www.modelaircraft.org/templates/ama/ClubZipLocator.aspx?z=92071]AMA Clubs by Santee - Click Me![/link] You might find a great deal on both a plane and and instructor there. Or else have one of the guys from the club go to a local show with you. Lots of deals there also. It never hurts having a cheap (cost effective) first plane, and a free instructor that likes it. Save the big money for your 2nd plane...

P.S. Gizmo: He's down by San Diego, CA, he's probably got decent weather most of the year. Lucky dog!
