6XAS Discontinued?
In the Discontinued Tx section of Futaba's site, there is a page for a 6XA/6XH, then tere's also a page for a 6XAS/6XHS.
Is it really discontinued? What PCM-capable 6channel computer radio supersedes this?

RE: 6XAS Discontinued?
Are you saying there's a "discountinued page" for EACH? (The 6XA AND the 6XAS?) I believe the 6XA was a predecessor to the 6XAS, so if it's just the XA being discontinued, then the XAS is newer.
IF both are being discontinued, then the 6EXA will take their place. The 6EXA has a few less features, but I believe it's also a bit less expensive.

RE: 6XAS Discontinued?
The 6XAS has been long in the tooth and due for replacement for a while. It's just about the oldest radio in Futaba's line. There's not likely to be an announcement about a replacement until the current 6XAS stocks are sold through.
One thing you can do is watch the hobby/trade show rumors and news from Japan. Things almost always show up there first.

RE: 6XAS Discontinued?
If they replaced a perfectly good radio like the 6XAS with a lesser one like the 6EXA I'll scream
It appears they stopped making their 6YG (SkySport6). I thought that's bascially what the EXA replaced..

RE: 6XAS Discontinued?
As you state the Futaba site shows the 6XAS discontinued, but still shows the 6XAPS as current. Tower still shows the 6XAS as available (for now).
The 6XAS and 6XAPS use the same transmitter. The 6XAS comes with a PPM receiver and the 6XAPS comes with a PCM receiver.

Think SkySport 6 is still in production.
I think 6EXA replaces 6DA, same price. 6DA looks cheap.
Look to Japan!!! Eek, why art there no Radio Manufacturers in our neck of the woods? Then we can actually look to the US for radios

RE: 6XAS Discontinued?
It wouldn't be the 6EXA taking the 6XAS's place, but rather something new. The 6EXA replaced the 6DA, and is marketed towards the simple 6-channel market much like JR's 631. The 6XAS is supposed to fill the "full-featured" 6-channel slot like the RD6000 or 6102 in Airtronics' and JR's lines. Back when the 6EXA came out Futaba's reps were very clear that it wasn't a replacement for the 6XAS because it isn't nearly as capable.

RE: 6XAS Discontinued?
THat's right. It was the DA not YG. Shame. I rather liked the DA for an entry-level radio. Sure it didn't DO anything, but it felt good and had good balance.
