Hey guys,
Can I use a 9x7 prop w/an .25la??
I had a 9x5 on it but it snapped in a cartwheel. Is there anyway I could use the old prop if I trim the other end to match and balance it??
I lost about 3/4 of an inch on it.

From: gone,
The 9X7 is a VERY heavy load for a .25 LA. I doubt you'd be happy with the results.
The 9X5 having lost as much blade as you indicate... trash it. There's probably stress cracks that you can't see. You don't want the engine to fling a section of blade at you just as you get it started. I'll trim and rebalance a prop that's chipped the tip by 1/16 inch... but not one that's lost more than 1/4 inch EVER.

The plane hasen't even been in the air and i broke a prop already, good thing it wasen't on the plane:-).

Broke prop doing a cartwheel... But the engine wasn't on the plane. ??
HOW did you manage that? Practicing gymnastics with the engine in your hand?

Sorry, I guess I should explain.
The engine was new and I had to break it in. Instead of building a test stand I build an r/c Snow-scoot out of some scrap balsa and plywood. I used my engine and radio/servos for my plane. While running the thing today I tried a close to full throttle turn and the edge caught a bump the wrong way, sent the thing flying in the air and it did a couple cartwheels before comming to a stop.
It is alot of fun to run, but I need to redesign to bottom and bevel the edges up instead of just being flat.
It only weighs about 4-5 pounds and is very fast.

Didn't know that, i just thought it wasen't recommended. Thanks.
I bought a 9x6 prop for it, but it dosen't seem to have as much power(thrust) as the 9x5. Oh well it works:-)

Depending on the airplane... the 9X6 might work. Its also a somewhat heavy load for the LA .25. But as the plane gains speed. the engine will "unload" and gain rpm.
Use of the high load prop only works if the plane is built for speed. It also makes tuning the engine a problem, as it will lean out a LOT when the engine speeds up.
