I think i'm gunna keep a logbook from here on in. keep track of my flight times, maneuvers, wx conditions, amount of landings, etc...
I'm wondering, do they make an R/C type of logbook? i might just use a standard full scale log.
also, what are some areas you people might log if you were to keep one? i'm open for ideas.

I wish I could get the discipline to log my planes. I always start and then forget to do it and finally give up. I also want to log my batteries, but again, I have problems keeping up with it. I think it's a great idea though.

great guys, thanks for the ideas...
Cafeen man, the suggestion Combat addict may be perfect for you. just bring pages on a clipboard to the field, and take notes on areas of interest to you on every flight. just don't put off all the writing to the end of the day, thats where its easy to get lazy and say screw it.

I love that Palm program! Too bad I don't have a Palm. Someone needs to write a program for students like me that we can download to our Texas Instruments TI-83 graphing calcs

CafeenMan,
I have the same problem. I even printed out several pages on Excel to log battery conditions. They're all still blank.
We have a club member who logs each flight down to where he landed on the runway and number of bounces (if any) and direction etc... Way too much for me - but it makes him happy.
The battery logging is an excellent idea and I need to start. (Damn - I already made my resolutions. Oh well)

The answer to your problems lies with the full scale solutions. Although new to RC flying, I am a private pilot in small engine aircraft. Whilst purchasing a new pilots logbook I noticed that the little pilot handbooks were just as detailed and easy to use so I have purchased a small pilot logbook for around $5.00 and it has ALL the information you need in an A5 size book which is easy to carry to the field. You can find a small logbook for little money that suits your specific needs. It also leaves the option open to keep track of either your flights on any plane or any pilot on any plane. The options are unlimited.
Best of luck,

Easy to keep track of all of your hard work and only takes 2 mins during a smoke break to fill it in!! Better that than not knowing I think - my opinion only and seeing as it is mine it is right to me!! Choice is yours what you do, only a suggestion for those interested.

I started out with good intentions. During training, I kept track of landings, take offs, # of flights, etc. Once I solo'd, the logging began to get missed. I did start a battery tracking chart, but found out later my system needed modification along with the spreadsheet. While I am not tracking batteries now, I plan to redo my system and begin tracking them. I try to re-cycle each battery once a month and find I am losing track. It's easy when you have 1 or two planes, but the more you get, the harder it is to remember. (Although I have been told that age is the real culprit.) Mine, not the battery.

This is what I do to keep track of my plane(s). Whatever works for me I know it's a little messy Thinking about rewiting it in ink this time instead of pencel!! Some of the information isn't accurate I did my best.
On my Hobbico MKIII I logged in 12 hrs and39 min!!
