Default Mariner 40

I have a trainer, j-3 cub, and just got the Mariner 40 ARF that I'm starting to build. I was just wondering how big the gap between the ailerons and the wing should be. It seems to me that they aren't very straight, and towards the end of the wing, I have a 2 mm gap while on the other side, it's only about 1 mm.... is it right and what should the gap be?

Thanx...
Dean

I Hope your talking about the Lanier Mariner 40 ARF. I have just completed assembling this ARF.
MinnFlyer has a great review ship:

This review also gives you some tips on what the instructions dont tell you.
Pay special attention on what Mike says about the cowl. (Thanks again Mike)

All the hinges in this ARF are "CA type" and need to be glued. You set the gap yourself.
There is also a CA hing in the "how too" section of RCU:

Good Luck with your project and be sure to post pictures!
The water up here has a herd crust this time of year!

Yeah, thanks a lot for the reply. I actually wanted this plane based upon the review... and I've always wanted a sea plane! Living in Alaska, I've got a lot of lakes to choose from.

And another quick question... would 5 Futaba S3003 work for this plane?

Glad you guys liked the review, that one was really a pleasure to do. If your ailerons are not glued in yet you can glue one side, then put pressure on the other while glueing, but it sounds to me like they are already glued in.

It's still not a problem, just cover the gap with clear packing tape or iron-on covering, but make sure to get in ti the crease:
