Default Another Question For Servos...

I have another question for servos. I now know that you need a y extension cord to hook up two servos to a receiver with just one hole. I also figured out I needed an elevon mixer to work this rc wing "Fogo". The problem is I'm not completely sure how to connect the elevon mixer to the y extension cord. I also want to know how many y extension cords and elevon mixers that I need to work the elevons in the plane. Also can someone tell me what a z extension cord is?(I found one of those while searching the web) Please help, I will greatly appreciate it. The pictures below are the wing and the diagram I think should work. If you have a better idea on how to work the elevons, please tell me. Thanks!!!

Jetfly what kind of radio do you have? If it is a computer radio or one of the better 6 channel radios you do not need the "Y" harness. We need to know what radio you are using to help you, The computer and good 6 channels have a mixing function. You plug one servo into the aileron port and another into either the elevator or an auxillury cannel then activate the elevon mixing. If you have a basic radio you want an electronic mixer. I believe that Ace made one as well as most of the radio manufactuers. Maybe Radio South has one as well. You just hook up elevator and ailerons into it and make what settings you need too. You will need 2 servos either way. i hope this helps.

You EITHER use a Y for 2 servos doing ailerons... OR you use a mix for elevons.... not both.

The radio TX may have the mix function built in. (I have a 6ch non-computer radio that has it... seen a 4 ch non-computer with it... its just a switch and 2 trim pots to set the mix up)

You may need a device that plugs in the elevator channel and the aileron channel... then plugs to both servos. (they cost about $39)

Depends on your radio...

The advice so far has been good. You do NOT use a Y harness when setting up elevons. With a "Y", both servos would be plugged into a single channels, so they could not be operated as the "aileron" half of Elevons.

I know I've seen electronic mixers for around $15, $40 is way too high. With a computer radio FHHuber is right, one servo to aileron other to elevator (usually), then the radio can do the mixing.
