Default Can someone identify this plane ?????

Hi,

Im saw the below plane on ebay can anyone identify it ???

The sellers comments are 'piper cub for sale, flown once over a year ago and never used since. Needs some slight tlc but works perfectly. The engine is a .12 sized which I bought new. It comes complete internally with all servos and receivers etc you just need radio gear' to me it doesnt look like a piper club ;-0

Also a size .12 engine seems small but i guess the plane looks small....

Thx

I can't quite tell from the photo but it may be a French Stampe Biplane.

Do you have any other photo's? need a side view. It's definitely not a Piper Cub. Looks more like a Tiger Moth from that angle.

Definatly a Tigermoth. A .12 engine? Hmmm, I'm not an engine history expert, but I can't think of any .12's out there. Also, I'm not sure, but I'm not seeing a vertcial stab/rudder where I think it should be from that angle. Based on what you've posted, I'd put this one down as "high risk" and would only bid if you were willing to get junk.

I would ask for more pics, and also ask him where the rudder/vert stab is. Definately not a cub. If he/she doesn't want to provide you with any more pics, then thats a red flag & stay away. You can get some great stuff on ebay, but you can also get total junk. It also depends on how much they are asking for it, what kind of receiver, servo's etc. If its a decent receiver & servos, the asking price may be worth that. Although if he's calling it a Cub, he might not know what the servo's etc are. As always "buyer beware"

Oh, I forgot to mention, I also get the feeling that the seller is clueless about what they have there, or are faking cluelessness to unload some garbage. If they are, in fact, clueless, you won't get much answer on radio questions, but you might also get a great deal.

It's like searching ebay for mis-spellings of words like "camera", you can find some real bargains that way

lol very true Montague

Ive emailed him and hes replyed, he says hes got the rudder buts its been disconnected, thats why hes put need a little tlc on the add but he will send it with it, but it comes with 5 sanwa sx-091 servos and switch harness, Rx Nicad, and futaba fp r116 fb receiver i asked him to go check whats in it... as to the engine all hes said that is says OS on it lol. He wants 90.00 dollars for it including postage......... so seems like a good deal even if the plane is worthless
