From: bellingham, WA,
I have some scrap 1X4's 2x4's 2X6's and plywood. Could anyone recomend a cheap and easy way to make one with some wood deck screws? Pictures and plans appreciated.

From: gone,
Essentially make a sawhorse. then a ply plate with a cutout for the engine to fit in. (different ply plate for each engine) Add a snaked cable type throttle linkage. (the bends will tend to hold the throttle where you put it.)
Essentially... anything that holds the engine firmly will work. I do all of my engine testing with the engines mounted to an aircraft. the test stands are just an extra mounting and dismounting process. Tie the plane's tail to a post... and you can let the engine run for break-in.

I saw one put out by VMAR that looks pretty nice and is inexpensive.
It is reviewed in the RCU Magazine on this sight.
VMAR isn't well thought of in this neighborhood, and the price scares me a little.
However, I did get some good ideas from it.
Good Luck,
