Jac_GT, CONGRATULATIONS !!! GREAT CHOICE !!! The H-9 Alpha Trainer is a great trainer and very nice looking too. Hangar-9 is one of the best companies out there and with an awesome customer support.

Good luck and don`t hesitate to ask any question no matter how simple it may sound. JT

Welll: Cherish the moment and your parents.
I had to shovel cow sh*t out of barns for
a whole summer to get anough money to
buy my first plane. The only thing my
parents done was drop me off at the instructors
house for training lessions. I thought my parents
was wonderful for helping me that much.

Hehe Jac_GT you're so lucky...
I had talked to my parents for 2 years to get me a plane. They never got one for me. In 2003 I got $333 at a math competition. Even then my parents wouldn't let me use that money to buy a plane. Finally in Oct/Nov of 2003 we went to the LHS and picked up a plane. I have to thank my parents for tossing in $20 / month for accessories like glue, spare wood, glow plug, prop, nuts + bolts, and a drill.
Just be careful not to get dents in it! I had dents in my plane just from light pressure to remove some CA with debonder.[:@] And try not to get glue on it.. CA is hard to get off, Epoxy is near impossible.
PS Don't do CA gluing on newspaper. It sticks and rips. Now I have a chunk of newspaper on my plane. At least the piece wasn't an advertisement.
But my parents are still nice. My dad helped me put the plane together.

hmm...my first plane was....welll...pt60.It still is cuz it aint finished...lol Instead i built me a spad, worth 22 $ @ home depot LOL Plus 180$ radio and 80$ engine....Didn't have to ask my parents for nothing though.... lol still can't fly worth a dang....
Now,to be serios,my trainer still isnt finished. Its a pt60.Iam in a middle of covering job, although already took out my spad for some flights.Instructor sure made it look so easy, even though plane(spad) wasn't balanced lateraly and had a crappy landing gear and teal heavy.I saw it fly though, now i can spend a couple extra $ to get my radio on/off switch. Now have to plug the bat in and out ..well,i dont really bother cuz its 1400 ma/h. Engine runs just fine though...radio batarey holding up..Just need to finish landing gear and get rid of the weight @ the teal.
Good luck ,fellow beginners.
