I am one of the few guys that has had a "hull loss accident" with a NexSTAR.
I was flying at an AMA field, with an AMA instructor, and lost sight of the aircraft. I, me, the guy holding the box, let the airplane fly into high-speed dirt. It did not crash because of its AFS state, the inclusion/exclusion of its fixed leading/trailing edge devices, or the ability of the novice to hit CTRL-ALT-DEL while simultaneously operating RealFlight software.
I boxed up the hulk, along with all the other items from the original packaging, and sent it to Hobby Services. I don't know whether they laughed, cried, or cussed when they got the remnants of my NexSTAR. What I know they did, is provide me with the following statement:
"The ARF was replaced under the "Learn to Fly" guarantee; one time only."
Is the NexSTAR the "ultimate" trainer? In my opinion, no. There are other trainers that fly equally well or better; however, the NexSTAR is the one that I bought. One of the reasons that I bought it was for the guarantee.
Hobbico/Hobby Service has lived up to their guarantee, and for that, I am thankful.

NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Way to go Hobbico. They have always been great to me. Nice to see the gaurantee really works for some people who need it.

I agree. Hobbico/Great Planes Hobby Services is great.
I returned what was left of my Nexstar after an unfortunate incident and the plane was replace within a week or so. I guess I'm just gunshy from dealing poor customer service from other companies, as I expected to get the run around and excuses but fortunately did not.
Thanks, hobbico! You earned a loyal customer
