The introduction of beginners to our sport is very enjoyable to me. For this purpose, I have set up, several times, a DEMO-TRAINER plane, with Buddy-Box which is taken to the field on every occasion possible.
In this particular effort, I have come across a plane that is, in my opinion , far superior to the rest :
HobbyPeople, in California, sells for $ 139.00 the WRIGHT FLYER 60 . I find this plane to be PARTICULARLY suited to the purposes of instruction and/or demonstrator.
The wingspan is quite large at 75" ... which makes it VISIBLE, even at the long distances beginners tend to get into. Semi-symetrical wings stay where directed, not at all giving the "inherent" stability of a Clark-Y with dihedral, which I find is annoying in the training procedure.
A mild .60 size motor works well for this plane. It is well built, easy to assemble, and requires no extra purchases for hardware since every piece is eminently useable... everything is included and all is of good quality, even the wheels. There is very little left to the imagination.
I am already using the fourth model of this description and the only deviations applied are : a Magnum 80 Four Stroke with a 3-blade Graupner prop, and one servo each for the RUDDER and the STEERING WHEEL....The 4stroke yields 30 minute flights per tank, and the 3blades reduced the sound to the quietest I have ever heard.
Highly recommended

Sounds like a great setup for training. I never realized a 3 blade prop would be quieter than a 2 blade, just goes to show you're never to old to learn something new.

I learned to fly with a Right Flyer 25, and that plane was FUN!. I didnt know till' after I learned to fly that I had the CG way too far back. Oh well. I guess thats why it was so touchy at first.

From: gone,
Several members of our club try to take trainers with them every trip out.
We have planes available for demo flights when visitors show up... and for getting in a training flight if the "newbie's" plane is non-functional for some reason.
Also... our club's got a trainer that's almost finished, to be dedicated to intro flights and a training backup.

HOBBY PEOPLE, whose ads appear in RCM sell the RIGHTFLYER .60 size for $ 139.99 .... I was looking for a BIG plane, without a FlatBottom wing and happened to notice this model. Sent off for one a while back and have been SO hooked with it that I now have Kit # 4 ready to start....I use it not only for DEMOS but also for introductions and regular training. It will take you all the way to SOLO, it is a noble, stable, big, well built and very reliable plane. The hardware supplied us EMINENTLY USEABLE in its entirety....In fact....some items like the gas tank is the best I have ever used. I only discarded the CLEVISES in favor of the new DUBRO blacks with security clip which I believe are by far superior to others available Don't know if this is permissible but this is the Hobby People # 1 800-854-8471.....Personnel is sometimes polite and nice, sometimes very Curt and Cold... Other than this, I don't really know what you mean about the "language"...... I recommend this plane very highly.
PS they are also EXCELLENT for carrying 2 meter gliders up to altitude on the Hangar 9 Glider Carrier....
