Hey everyone,
I am thinking of getting a multiplex twinstar as my first plane...If you saw my "soo many choices" post, I have obviously decided to buy a belly lander seeing that the nearby park has grass. Anyways, I was wondering if any of you know the top speed of this airplane and the total cost it took to make a final product. I found the kit for around $85 and I was wondering how much else I would need to shell out. Thanks...
PS: I don't really like the gray color of the foam so I was wondering if it would hurt to paint the foam?

My Feedback: (3)
I have one, and I don't think I could have learned on it. I bought the Multiplex power set and it's a little under powered and heavy, to use as a trainer. Paint would make it even heavier. Don't paint it, nobody's going to like it for its looks anyway.
Better yet, get a plane you can learn on. Like the SoarStar. Or one of those SlowSticks the other guys talk about. The Multiplex TwinStar is really not suited for a park where there are people around. Even if you get a more powerful power set, it'll be faster, but not lighter - that's why I don't think you'll like it for learning. I like to train people on planes that will fly slow, and the TwinStar isn't really capable of slow stable flight.
Good luck

hi,
i reccomended the twinstar, it is one of the easiest plane to fly!, alough i crashed twice: Once the aliron horn came undone, and second i went deadstick, and hit a tree:
Here is how min is set up:
Motors: 2 400 (supplied)
Speed Controller: Jeti 30 Amp
Servos: 2 Futaba S3003 (fuse) 2 SD200 (wings, mini)
Battery: 8.4V 3000mah, but get a 9.6V, (8.4 is not enough!)
Trust me i learned on it, and i can fly very slow, esppecially in wind!
landing is the best, you can just drop out of the sky, i will have some flying photos tomorrow,
have you been to my gallery??
