If your " Mormon ", like me, you teach BOTH wives to learn and fly RC. Its great to sit in the lawn chair with a cold soda and watch those two go through the pre-flight, start-up and then hand me the TX. Ah yes, nothing like a beautiful flying day with a trained pit crew, your favorite plane.............

My wife is supportive, but sometimes I feel guilty.
She says I never spend any time with her anymore. I am either working on the planes, flying the planes, on here talking about planes, on the simulator or talking about planes.
I think I need to chill out on the hobby, but I am consumed. I dream about the damn things for crying out loud.
She says she is glad to see I have a hobby, but I think sometimes she is upset because we don't spend as much time together as we used to.
I just started last summer. I am still waiting for the "newness" of the hobby to wear off so I can start thinking about something else. But it only seems to be getting worse.

Confessions of an RC addict ....
... I took my plane to bed with me ... honestly.
Last night I was busy gluing the sheeting on to the turtle-deck of my Spitfire Kit, when my wife called down to the basement that the Leafs had just evened up the score with 3 minutes remaining in the sixth game of the playoffs (at the time I thought we were going to lose... so I had given up watching the game half way through the first period...).
Anyways, I have wet both the left and right sheeting down with windex to make the bend, and I had just laid a rather large bead of medium CA along the areas to be glued. The job required both hands and then some. Well, I couldn't miss the remainder of the game, so I grabed the kit, and took it up to our bedroom where my wife was watching the game. Honestly, I had just sat down on the bed when my wife commented .... "So... are you REALLY planning on bringing that to bed with you?".

P.S. Leafs lost on the overtime period ... I guess it could be worse, I might have been a Blue-Jays fan.

The only real problem that I have with my wife is that I don't hang my planes in the den. She loves to go in the LHS to see the planes hanging. I told her that all of my planes are flying at the moment. I guess the only solution is to buy more kits and build more. sigh

The first year I started this hobby I used to be pretty bad on flying days. I would leave early on Saturday morning and be doing my final landing just as the sunlight is fading fast around 10 PM. By the time I got home it was pitch black and my wife was having a hard time believing that I just got back back from the field! Now I am usually done by 3 or 4pm. I get in all my flights early and then spend a few hours helping out new flyers.

That sound familiar, lol.
I called my wife from the cell phone last sunday night about 9 : 30 to tell her I was on my way home. I live an hour from the field. She was in hysterics thinking I had an accident or something.
