Hi Everyone,
I am an Australian who has spent many years trying to get into R/C Flying with only limited success.
But, in October I am coming to the USA for about 2 1/2 weeks and I am looking for an Instructor to teach me how to fly...and hopefully takeoff/land...in one piece.
I looked on the Internet for Flying Schools, but they seem to be booked out for the rest of 2004.
Of course, I will be willing to pay the right person an hourly/daily rate.
So if you, or you know of someone else, that maybe looking for a challenge in October, then please email me back.
Also looking for Beginner Golf Lessons too, maybe we can "kill two birds with one stone".
Happy and Safe Flying,
Nigel

Contact the clubs in the area you will be staying see about joining then instruction would be free.... well almost just need AMA 58.00 and what ever the cost of joining the club would be typically 20-100. Don't forget that you radio may not be legal for use here

Thanks for your reply,
As for an area to come too, well I'm more interested in finding an Instructor who is interested enough to take me on, then I will gladly come to his area.
I wont be bringing any radio/aircraft gear with me....so I would be looking at using the Club/Instructors gear....preferably a Buddy Box.
I'm not a no-hoper....I can takeoff....zoom around the sky....just I need help with landings and fine tuning my "zooming".
Thanks again

Give Dave Scott at 1st US Flight School a call or drop him an e-mail. That's near the end of his season and if he knew what your situation is, could probably get you a space. Wisconsin is very nice in October.

I would think that there is some club in a area that would teach him to fly without joining there club, after all he's not gonna live here so i see no problem, besides they would get a kick out of his language.Depends on who/where he is about joining AMA,i kinda see it useless since he's going back probably soon.
Good Luck

I'd be happy to give you a hand and all you'd have to pay for is some fuel. I'm the club's VP and Field Director, so I'm sure I could convince the Board to wave any "fees" (like joining).
I work days (during the week), but we could still get in a couple hours most afternoons, as well as weekends if you'd want. I also belong to two clubs, so you could "broaden your horizons".
Your on your own for golf lessons, but I might be able to find someone else for that if you're interested in the northeastern US. (Weather starts getting a bit chillier in October.)

Okay guys. I had offerred Nigel help if he came to Massachusetts, but as it turns out he's looking at coming to the states late October into early November, and our days are getting short and pretty chilly by then. (He's hoping to fly afternoons more than weekends.)
SO-o-o, he needs someone in a warmer part of the country. Anyone in the South, Southwest, or California up to helping out a fellow RC'er for a couple of weeks? You'll make a friend in the process.
