Default RE: When do you know you're ready to move on?

flymeaway:
- You can fly all day without crashing
- You can do simple aerobatics already

You don't need an instructor. All you need is a place big enough and smooth enough to land. Fire up those nitro planes and fly them.

I totally agree.

And contrary to what some people tend to lead you to believe, just because you get an instructor isn't going to make your plane crash proof!

An instructor will teach you the basics, and then you are on your own. I have seen some of the best pilots crash at my club. It happens! Don't be fooled, getting an instructor is a smart thing to do, but if you already know how to fly, it is not necessary.

I've seen many posts on here state that there instructor cut their cords after their 3rd or 4th flight.

Hmm, guess that means they are pro's right? They will never crash because they had an instructor!....Na, that would be INCORRECT advice, I am kidding.

Sounds like he already knows the basics.
