hey there dragon, I didn't have that problem, but I did polish my exhaust tip on my alpha trainer. What I did was use some 400 grit sandpaper to get the factory finish off, then I used 600 grit, 800 grit, 1200 grit, and finally 2000 grit. This will make it look good but to make it shine really good, get some sort of aluminum polish like, mothers wheel polish or in my case, I used never dull. (IMO this works waaaaay better) You can find it at wal-mart or a local auto parts store. Sorry I don't have any pics, I need to find a way to get some hu? But anyways, good luck, and show some pics when ya git done!!!!
BTW, the high numbered grit sandpaper can be found an an auto body shop. Since your spinner is not all that bad, you might want to start out with 800 or 1200. I also know that a brand new spinner may be cheaper, but then again, you will have a little experience with polishing aluminum.
