Cannot seem to assemble this needle valve correctly. Have Evolution .46 engine. Spray arm broke off, and had to buy a new needle valve "housing/spray arm". Cannot seem to get brass "bushing" to the very bottom of the assembly ( where needle fits into). Any tips or tricks? Mike

I would like to know also.....
I just bashed the hell out of one, I think its ruined, lol. I put a small screw driver on it and tapped it with a hammer. (As I got frustrated my taps got bigger). This is definetely not the way to do it, lol
Luckily I had an old engine to steal the needle valve from.

I got two of those, but haven't taken them apart just yet. Contact the manufacturer: http://horizon.hobbyshopnow.com/support/

I would call the manufacture before you hit it with any thing. Like I said, I ruined mine I think. Brass is very soft. When you find out please post it , I'd appreciate it!

I tried the bang the crap out of it approach as well. Now I just ordered a new spray arm a carb parts kit. This brass bushing is too soft to force into the housing. Next time, I will try to stick brass bushing it in the freezer first, then heat up the spray arm. The housing will expand wider from the heat, and the brass bushing will compress with the cold - maybe enough to fit! That might be the only useful thing I learned from 4th grade science. I will call Horizon Hobby if this does not work, and let you know.

Can you purchase the entire assembly together already? I didn't see it on the horizon page. It would be nice if you could.

Not know exactly what you guys are talking about, but can it be "pressed" on with vise without damaging? I did this with a 4 stroke carb once.

Nope, had to purchase seperately - Spray arm bracket and carb kit. I wish they came assembled! I actually ordered from WholesaleTrains.com - much cheaper for all Hangar 9 and Evolution parts. Here are the I ordered
1 Evolution Power System, Small Parts Set, Carburetor:A - EVO100E46C -
$2.85
1 Evolution Power System ,Original Equipment Replacement Parts,
Spraybar/Bracket,Remote-E46870a - EVO100870A - $1.79.
Cannot use a vise, as this will damage the soft brass bushing. I will call Horizon to see if they have a work around.

I have a question that maybe someone could answer.
Does it reall matter what brand the needle valve is? Could you take a needle valve from any engine of the same size?
Seems to be that you could. All it does is meter the flow.
May not be able to mount it just like you want, but is this possible?

I fixed it finally! Got my new parts. First, I lubed the spray arm housing with some 3 in one oil. Then I heated the housing with my heat gun to have the metal expand. Next, I took a size 4 hex bit for my interchangeable bit screwdriver and used the blunt end and over a period of about 10-15 minutes tapped in the bushing. I did not destroy it this time, but did some damage to the hole where the needle valve sits in from banging it in. With a xacto I took out some of the extra brass from the hole, but the hole was still smaller than the original. So, I assembled the needle valve, and gently tightened the needle all the way down to finally make the hole the original size. Once it was tightened all the way down, I disassembled, and used my air compressor to blow the piece out to remove any brass shavings left in the valve. I literally saw some brass dust fly out. Once completed, I assembled the parts back together and started her up! It tool a long time to fix it. There has to be an easier way - but it is fixed!
BTW, you cannot use another valve, as in this engine the arm it used to hold on the back plate of the engine. Thanks to all for your help!
