Default Spinners for APC Props

Are there any reasonably priced spinners that will fit APC props without a lot of trimming? I'm currently using 12.25x3.75, 11x5 and 10x6 APC props. It seems like we go to so much trouble balancing a prop, but then remove a huge amount of plastic from the spinner to get the prop to fit.

ditto on the prop safety nut, faster to replace the prop, no trimming the plastic.

You can also check with Tru-Turn (http://www.tru-turn.com) and see if they have an off the shelf spinner to fit. They have some wide blade cuts available. If they don't have it you can ask for a custom cut for a small extra charge. They are perfectly balanced too boot. I've used them for a number of my large or wide props and love them. You could also use the dubro safety nut which would work. A lot depends on how much you want to spend and what look is important to you for the particular application

The first problem is you are running plastic spinners. Try the spinners made by Dave Brown . They have cutouts to fit props up to around 16". They are good spinners and are about half the price of Tru-Turn.[8D]

You can also try the aluminum Spin Right spinners at [link=http://www.atsrcplanes.com/srspinners.htm]ATS RC Planes[/link].

Nice spinners with large cutouts. Far better than plastic for just a bit more money. Very good prices and include the adapter that most places charge extra for. This outfit ships very fast. I like dealing with them.

I use prop nuts made by Harry Higley. I really like the Higley nuts. Could be cause I am nuts, not sure.

You can pick up an aluminum spinner (I think someone has mentioned it already Zombie I think) I have used WM spinners on several of my planes with very good results. The only problem I've encountered with aluminum spinners is that after a while, the starter-spinner contacts gets a little slippery. Other than that.... love them... and they look absolutely gorgeous.
