Does anyone know if the firebrd outlaw is a good first time plane?

I had an aerobird. It had 3 channels. I don't think the firebird has elevator control. I wouldn't get just it for that reason. You have to use the throttle to control attitude. Its kind of lame I think.

What do you think is lame? The throttle altitude control? Why is it lame?

cause using the throttle to contro altitude. is not as great as having an elevator.

Because if you want to move on to other planes you really need to know how to use elevator. Plus elevator makes it possible to do loops, dives, etc.

For the money I liked the aerobird. A lot of people here hate them. I am sure there are better ones for 150 bucks. But I would get an aerobird and not a firebird. It is pretty much the same plane but has a mixer build in for elevator control.

My brother has a FB Outlaw he will probably give you. What a worthless piece of junk. It is as far from flying RC as you can get without going to freeflight. It flies like a dawg...don't waste your money. The Aerobird flies pretty good, but the most bang for your buck is the Parkzone Stryker. Aerobird is a good first timer plane but the Stryker will require a little stick time. It's fairly quick and maneuverable=faster crash.

is the parkzone stryker a good second plane for me? is it really hard to fly and does it have elevator control?

Mammoth, I've been flying electric for 3 years. I have 21 models that fly. From slow flyers in your backyard to brushless powered motors that will do almost 100 mph. For a beginner, there is only one choice and that is a trainer. Forget about aerobirds firebirds and all their ilk.
Get either a GWS slowstick or, get a T-52 from JK Aerotech. You will have to buy a radio/transmitter etc. but at least you can use those
in future planes. Pound for pound, nothing is as durable as a T-52. Learn with throttle/elevator/rudder first. And then do an aileron
trainer or just go to a flying wing. Once you get the hang of it, extend your hobby and pleasure by flying a glow powered aircraft!
Your chances of succeeding are much better.
