Default Battery pack question

I Just recived my order from tower hobbies, and one of the things i bought was a new battery pack, there wasnt a plug on the end so i had to order a servo lead, my question is do i solder black to black and red to red, and just leave the yellow alone? any help would be greatly appreciated, by the way it is for a JR radio. Thank you

Yes, Black to Black, Red to Red. Forget the Yellow.

you can seperate the colors. Their individually wrapped but stuck together but you can pull them appart. Then strip some wire cover to expose the wire on both ends. attach them then solder. use some electrical tape too.

I would suggest not using electrical tape. You want what is called heat shrink tubing. It comes in many sizes. You put a short piece on the wire back from where you are going to solder. You make your conection then slide the tubing over the joint. Use your heat gun or a matc to shrink the tubing. It acts as insulation and supports the joint. You can get it at electrical supply places. I think Radio Shack has it. Auto parts stores usually have it as well. If you can find it the best stuff is called self sealing. It has goop in it to seal out moisture and other contaminants. Just be careful shrinking it as you don't want to melt it. BTW you want the size for 18 - 26 guage wire. That should cover most RC applications.
