I havent read everything on the post but after reading the first post, i realized whats going on. I agree the nexstar is a horrible plane because it teaches you bad habits. After you master the plane you think that a new one will act the same, wrong, thats your 200$ worth. The plane is extremely expensive, thats why im getting the tower trainer. Its a basic trainer with everything you need. I think it will be great and cant wait to set it up on my field gear. But hey, if you read closely there was a guarantee of success on the nextstar, meaning if you crashed it with an instructor they'll replace it! ITs not so bad. I think the only thisg thats good on the plane is the landing gear, and the wingspan. Everything else is just for show.
Cheers,
Mike

Thanks for your expert input samolot. I disagree. I'm the CFI at our club, so I get to teach students flying every trainer out there. The Nexstar fits in near the top of the heap in terms of student success & airframe quality.
It most certainly does not does not teach bad habits, it is attractive in appearance & it is pretty tough. It comes either as an ARF at a competitive price, or as a very complete, high-quality package -- also for a competitive price. I would like one for myself & perhaps some "expert" student who is getting bored with his Nexstar will unload the thing for a good price.

I'm going to agree with Britbrat. I love the plane and without the AFS installed (I got the ARF, it did not include it), it is not teaching any bad habits. I've had quite a few rough landings and it's held up quite well. It flies nice and stable, turns well and was easy to set up in the ARF version. Sure, a lot of the gimmick stuff makes the price pretty high in the RTF version but the ARF costs about the same as many other trainers and is much easier to set up for a newbie. Tail installation, gear installation, bolt on wing - all things I was very happy about when I started with it. Granted when someone who bought a nexstar puts together their second plane (either an ARF or Kit) they will have quite a bit more work to do but it gets people into the hobby and flying with minimal work - getting them hooked
So the extra work on plane two doesn't seem bad when you love what you're doing.

Thanks mrbass111, but the shipping costs from Florida to Canada would make the total cost unrealistic. I'll wait for a local (or at least reasonably close ) unit.
