Default Changing mufflers

I had the misfortune of losing the back half of my muffler yesterday on my maiden flight of my somethin' extra. It has a TT .46 pro engine. I aquired an OS muffler, and after a very minor adjustment to make it fit, it is on securely. The OS muffler is physically shorter, and smaller in diameter. I also removed the baffle.

Will the new OS muffler, due to its smaller size, not let my engine run to full throttle? Do I need to readjust the carb? Still learning the tuning of engines, so if so, I will have to get some help tomorrow at the field.

Thanks,
RichD

It should need very little adjustment- Is the substitute muffler from a 46FX or similar? It is similar in size and shape to the TT pro-46

I would recommend the Tower muffler though for another 600-1k RPM's [X(] Its' only $13-

Are you going to use a mousse can (good idea) or a tuned pipe? (bad idea)

As long as you have the front part of the muffler,
www.plasticwings.com (the new spadtothebone)
has the PERFECT fix for you. You can finish it in a couple of hours.

I agree, that is the best 14.00 you can spend in this hobby if you have a 46. They also blot up to an irvine 53. The tower muffler gives my engine about 150 rpm more than the macs muffler. I don't know what the difference would be between the tuned pipe and the tower muffler. I just went to towers site and they won't be available until late Jul. Too bad since mine fell off the other day.

Thought about the mousse can several times. How big should the exaust hole be?
