Hello, I have an Hangar 9 Alpha .40 and I think it recomends 10% to 15% nitro and I actually have 5% nitro will that work ok or will I have some problems with it flying. I know I probaly should stick with whats recomended but the guy at the Hobbie Shop gave me the 5% so. Let me know what you think. Thanks Cole

The 5% will be fine for the engine. The only time you MIGHT notice any difference is if your flying site is above 5,000 feet.
As for the "hang-up" thing, it is like some people, no matter what is told or shown to them, have a set idea in their mind and will not change from it.

i wasn't trying to be smart!it's just that some people reckon that a high percentage of nitro is the answer for everything when it isn't really necessary, for instance-super tigre recommend straight fuel for most of their engines.

I agree, 5% is just fine. I personally use only 10%. But I am above 3500 ft here. So the extra nitro helps some. You will do dandy with the 5%. It is also cheaper than the more nitro fuels.
