Last week I made a $200.00 hole in the flying field 6" deep. Last week end I purchased a Sig Kedet 40 LT ARF.
I have an OS .46fx that will go in it.
Is there any beefing up I should do to the Sig plane?
The wing has no fiber glass tape renforcement.
Any suggestions.
Thanks.

The Sig LT40 ARF is a good airplane and the.46 FX makes a good combination. You won't need all the power but it's sure nice to have. The wing doesn't have fiberglass reinforcement but then again it doesn't need it. They do give you a piece of material to cover up the gap at the wing root. Just be sure you use 30 minute epoxy for joining the wing and be sure you sand as much as necessary to get a good fit at the root. Just be doubly sure you have the CG right as it will tend to be a bit tailheavy. I modified mine for bolt on wings as opposed to rubber bands but the recommended method works very well too. The covering is Coverall but you can patch with Monokote if necessary. There have been several LT40's at our field, some trikes and some taildraggers. Both types fly equally well. Before installing the control surfaces be sure you have a good slip fit for the hinges. This part of the construction can get very messy. Mounting the aileron servo can be a bit tricky although it looks quite simple. Just do what the instruction book tells you. Control throws should be as recommended in the book. You can increase them later on when you feel comfortable with the airplane. Good luck with your new airplane. I hope you enjoy it as much as I DID mine. (past tense because it is not uncrashable.)
