Hello,
I am new to rc modeling and was looking for a little advice. I just purchased and built my second plane, a GWS Tiger Moth. I have the plane completely built, but am still fiddling with the radio. I have a GWS GWA-4A FM transmitter. I have a GWS 4 channel reciever in the plane. Everything works, the elevator, rudder and throttle. The only thing I don't like is that the throttle is controled by moving the left stick right and left. Is that normal?
It seems very unnatural, I would rather control the throttle by moving a stick up and down. The manual for the radio only shows two connection settings; one for an 8 channel receiver and one for a 6 channel. I hooked up as for the 6 channel receiver (throttle on channel 1).
Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks

Hi aeroandes,
For your question is that the left transmitter sick should move up and down for the throttle.
When the throttle is pulled all the way back will be for idel.
The left stick(also for rudder) will move left and right.
The right stick is for elevator(up and down), and aileron(left and right)
Check to see if you have the throtle servo pluged in right slot in the receiver.
It should be marked on the receiver where each servo goes.
It seems that you might have have the rudder and throtle servos reversed.
You can have someone at a club (If you belong to one), or have someone at the hobbie
shop close by have some check your set-up for you they should be able to help you too.
Hope this helps,
Clarence

Thank you! That was it, the controller is working beutifully now! I taxied the plane out in the street and hopped it off
the ground a few times. All I need to do is now is make sure everything is secure and then I'm ready for the first flight.
Thanks
